There’s a particular kind of pressure that comes when you look at what you need and then look at what you have—and the numbers don’t seem to match.
Not enough money.
Not enough time.
Not enough energy.
Not enough people.
Not enough opportunity.
Not enough of whatever you think you need for what’s in front of you.
And when we focus on the lack, it’s easy to slip into fear.
But Paul writes:
“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
—Philippians 4:19
I love that Paul doesn’t say God supplies according to our resources.
He supplies according to His.
And there is a big difference.
Paul wrote these words to the Philippians after thanking them for their generosity and partnership with him. They had given sacrificially, and Paul was reminding them that the God they trusted was also the God who would care for them.
This isn’t a promise that God will give us everything we want; it’s an invitation to trust that He knows what we need.
Sometimes His provision looks like finances.
Sometimes it looks like wisdom.
A relationship.
An opportunity.
Strength for one more day.
A closed door that protects us.
Or grace that somehow becomes enough for what’s in front of us.
The problem is that we often decide ahead of time what provision is supposed to look like. We pray, “God, provide,” while quietly handing Him the blueprint. But what if provision looks different than we expected?
What if instead of obsessing over what seems to be missing, we started looking for how God is already supplying?
Today, you don’t have to live from scarcity.
You can live from trust. Trusting His goodness. Trusting His faithfulness. Trusting His supply.
It’s time to Arise & Align.
Let’s Begin.
One Scripture. One thought. One question. One step. Fifteen minutes.
Today’s Scripture
“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 4:19
Alignment Thought
God’s provision may not always look like you expected, but His resources are not limited by yours.
Today’s Question
Where am I focusing more on what I lack than on the God who supplies? And have I already decided what His provision needs to look like?
Today’s Step
Name one place where you currently feel lack.
Instead of immediately asking God to fill it the way you think He should, pray: “Lord, show me how You are providing here.”
Then pay attention throughout your day.
Look for the resource you overlooked. The person He sends. The wisdom you needed. The unexpected opportunity. The strength you didn’t think you had.
At the end of the day, write down: Where did I see God’s provision today?
Train your mind to look not only at what is missing—but for the ways God is supplying.
Today’s Affirmation
Today I AM TRUSTING HIS SUPPLY.
Closing Prayer
Father,
Thank You that Your resources are not limited by mine. Forgive me for the places where I’ve allowed what I lack to become louder than who You are.
Help me trust You with what I need without demanding how You provide it. Open my eyes to Your provision today. And teach me to live from trust instead of scarcity.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
That’s it.
15 minutes.
One intentional decision to build your life on His Word.
That’s one of the reasons I created Arise & Align—the books and the daily Alignment app—to help you build a daily rhythm of bringing your mind, heart, and thoughts back into alignment with God.
The books give you the framework. The Daily Alignment App helps you practice it. And together, they’re designed to help you stop merely knowing you want to live differently and begin building a daily rhythm that helps you actually do it.
The goal isn’t to never wander. It’s to learn how to come back.
Again and again, intentionally returning to the Lord.
